Glaucoma Awareness Week
Published on March 17, 2026
Managed By: FIO Hospital
FIO Hospital Islamabad marked Glaucoma Awareness Week with a dedicated Awareness Walk, bringing together staff, patients, and members of the public to highlight the importance of early diagnosis.
Glaucoma is often called the "silent thief of sight" because it can progress without noticeable symptoms until significant vision loss has occurred — making regular eye pressure checks and optic nerve screening essential, especially for those over 40 or with a family history of the condition.
The awareness walk was accompanied by free screening camps and informational sessions, reflecting FIO Hospital’s continued push toward early detection and prevention of irreversible vision loss.
